Link Saver is designed to be a local-first application, meaning that the majority of your data stays on your device. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding data collection, usage, and the security measures we implement to protect your information.

We collect limited information to provide our service:

• Profile Information: Name and profile picture (stored locally on your device's private storage).
• Content Data: Saved URLs, notes, and metadata (stored locally in an encrypted or sandboxed environment).
• Technical Data: Device hardware model, operating system version, and basic performance logs used for debugging and stability improvements.
• Reminder Data: Timestamps and titles of reminders are stored to facilitate local notification scheduling.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used strictly for the following purposes:

• Service Delivery: Enabling the core functionality of saving and organizing links.
• Notifications: Triggering local alerts at your requested times via the Android AlarmManager system.
• Security: Providing biometric authentication layers (Fingerprint/Face Unlock) to restrict access to your data.
• App Improvement: Analyzing local crash reports to identify and resolve software defects.

4. Permissions and Their Usage

The App requires specific Android permissions to operate:

• Camera: Required for the 'Scan' feature. Images are processed in real-time on-device and are never stored or transmitted.
• Notifications: Required (Android 13+) to deliver reminder alerts and system confirmations.
• Biometrics: Required to facilitate secure app-level locking. We do not have access to your biometric credentials; we only receive authentication status from the OS.
• Internet: Required to fetch link metadata (titles, descriptions, images) and to load Google Fonts.

5. Data Storage and Security

All user-generated content is stored locally on the device's internal storage, protected by Android's application-level sandboxing. We do not utilize cloud-based synchronization or external database clusters for your link data. However, we provide an optional feature to back up your data to your personal Google Drive account.

6. Google Drive Backup (Optional)

If you enable the Backup feature, we request access to your Google Drive via the 'drive.file' scope. We only have access to files created by Link Saver. We use this to create and update your backup file ('linksaver_backup.json'). Your data remains in your personal Google Drive and is not stored on our servers.

7. Third-Party Integration

We utilize industry-standard third-party services:

• Google ML Kit: For on-device text and barcode recognition. No data is sent to Google's cloud for this purpose.
• Google Fonts: To provide a consistent and premium typography experience across different devices.
• Coil: For efficient and secure image loading and caching of link previews.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Since data is stored locally, it is retained for as long as the App remains installed. Users can delete individual items or clear all application data via the device's system settings. Uninstalling the App will result in the permanent deletion of all locally stored links and notes.

9. Your Legal Rights

Under regulations such as GDPR and CCPA, you have the right to access, rectify, and delete your data. These rights are fully supported through the App's interface, allowing you total autonomy over your information.
